I'm wondering about that also. Haven't found any info about this in Paypal's site.

Hello,

Local ACH is the ability to register a local bank account that is denominated in your local currency. Countries that have local ACH withdrawal availability include Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom.

We hope to be expanding our bank transfer capabilities to include more countries, however, due to the complexities of global finance, we cannot give a timetable for this expansion at this time.

Please note:

Customers in any country may withdraw funds to a U.S. bank account. Only U.S. bank accounts, from a branch located within the U.S., denominated in U.S. Dollars can be added to a PayPal account

Local bank accounts cannot be used for the eCheck and Instant Transfer payment methods

Members registered from Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland can use their local bank account to add funds to their PayPal account

Members registered from Canada and the United Kingdom can use their local bank account for the Instant Transfer and eCheck payment methods

For your withdrawal options, log in to your account and click the 'Withdraw' tab.

so if I understand you --- to transfer funds FROM a paypal account, you can only transfer to a bank in your own country - as set when a person registered into paypal?
so if for example, I were living in Australia, but had a bank account back in Europe ~ I would not be able to transfer to it? but perhaps if in the registration if I had stated the Europian country as my base - I WOULD be able to transfer? ha~ or have I got it all back to front and totally wrong??
be nice of you could in fact transfer to any bank account anywhere - it'd be ideal for ~ well - for example if you had family (son or daughter living "elsewhere", adn you wanted to help them out with some extra funds - you could transfer a few $'s to where they are... so long as it is within the current listed countries that paypal permits - but even if it is - am I still limited to transferring to my own location??
many thanks..

You can withdraw your Paypal money from anywere in the world with a US bank account.

Normally getting a US bank account as non resident could be a problem but you can learn the proccess in www.us-bank-non-residents.com

I hope this is of some help.

I think what your looking for is a bank that will provide a real account number so that you can conduct transactions on paypal. My friend signed up for a second chance bank account with a bank that's FDIC insured. They mailed him mastercard and now he just removes the money from an ATM machine.
