Post back validation in servlet/jsp Options

I'd like to have the ipn sent to a Strut Action but dunno how to do a post back to paypal and get the validation back. any clues? or should i do that in jsp and redirect all the request parameter to the action when the validation finish? what's the pro and con for each approach?
