Hi,
I am trying to test a paypal ipn servlet. I have been using
http://www.eliteweaver.co.uk/testing/ipntest.php. It keeps on
coming back with:
IPN Sent: 02:17:16 Apr 15, 2004 PDT
HTTP Status: DNS Not Found!
IPN Received: Your script did not reply!
Post Back: N/A
Nothing shows up in the jboss server log. I can access the url from
else where on the net (an entry shows up in the server log).
Have people had luck testing this way?
I have read a post saying there was not much luck in testing with
eliteweaver. Am I missing something obvious or should I just bite bullet and start testing with Paypal directly?
Thanks
ED

Hi - I haven't tried eliteweaver's testing page (though I will... if it works for me it'll be a useful tool!), but testing directly with PayPal isn't hard, and it's something that you're going to have to do before you go live anyway. If you have a personal account, just make a 1-cent payment, then refund it. Note: you do lose the penny to the fees -- but I can't imagine you'd care unless you're doing hundreds of tests.
I'll try to remember to post again when I get around to checking EliteWeaver's testpage.
