Prepopulate fields and Require Input Options

While I have been able to prepopulate fields in the Paypal Page I need to know how to require some of these in my site before moving on and prepopluating in the paypal page. When they click "Make a Donation" I want to make sure that the required fields were filled in. How can I do this? And, can I make a radio button required before the page moves on to Paypal?
