Given that it looks as if Marcus at EliteWeaver has completely disappeared, are there any users out there who would like to try and decide what to do in terms of support? Peter Claridge

I am also _REALLY_ interested what is happening with EliteWeaver.
I bought a script from them. Then I had some questions and so I sent e-mails. But none of them was answered. The EliteWeaver-board is down now for some months but it is still saying it would be back soon.
This is quite frustrating and it really doesn't give me confidence to use the EliteWeaver products.
So please, could someone from EliteWeaver come up here and tell us customers what is happening and if we can expect some support.
Or is there anybody else who could take up the work?
Hoping for an answer...
Ulrich

What I do know is that Marcus was seriously ill before Christmas. Given that there has been nothing posted since then, I can only imagine that his situation got even worse.

Personally, I have decided to drop the product from my site, and hope that Marcus and his family (he just had his first child before becoming ill) manage to come through this crisis.

I have been checking another forum he used to respond in (http://www.paypalipn.com), and cannot find anything recent. I purchased the AntiFraud Protal, my card was charged, and I was returned to his confirmation page, but never received the program and now it tells me that my registered email is Invalid license. Apparently AFP is partially toast right now and there are a few people on the other board in a similar position.

I certainally hope all is well with him. I tried calling one of the numbers he had posted for contact, but only got the EliteWeaver answer machine. I would much rather get the program (it looks like it is exactly what I am looking for with electronic delivery) than to have to dispute the charges.

Thanks for the quick response, I will give it a couple more days. I ordered on 3/23/04. Perhaps he is not aware that the instant delivery and account tracking is broken, and has not had time to keep up with all the posts in these 2 forums. I take it you have heard from him recently? That would be great news for everyone :)

I searched through the forum and cannot find any posts from EW for this year (2004). I am hoping that he is just on vacation or something, but it appears that his program has been broken for some time now (at least since 01/18/04) judging from posts in the other forum.

When was the last time you heard from him? If you have an alternative method of contacting him (I have tried phon, and 5 email addresses I found for EW) would you please let him know that his site is not delivering the program?

Hello everyone,

I'm a new user of EliteWeaver's Anti-Fraud Portal php script for
ipn processing. I bought it last week from Cicero's site. I've managed to install it, configure it and test it using his site.
The only problem I'm having now is setting up my digital items with
it. I feel like a sailor on shore leave with no place to go ;).
Can anybody help with entering my items and prices. Or better yet
can anyone tell me where I can find a user's manual that'll show
me?

Well... I purchased the Anti-Fraud Portal yesterday (4/26/2004). Paid for the script but never received it. I have sent three messages but haven't heard a peep from anyone associated with EliteWeaver.

This is very disapointing...

Hi

I also just purchased the Elite Weaver portal. I didn't receive any installation instructions or a manual on how to use it. For some reason I'm unable to go to their website: http://www.eliteweaver.co.uk/portal/

I hope this is just a temporary glitch. Does anyone know of another url on how to install and use the program?

Thanks,
Sam

Hi Sam, the only installation instructions are what is contained within the download. The Eliteweaver server is currently down which is why you are unable to access the site. I also hope it is a temporary glitch too as Marcus hosts my site on his server. I do know though that he has a guy in the US who looks after the server so all being well it should be brought back on-line soon. I tried ringing him today and his phone number has been cut off so I'm not sure what the situation is, I can only assume he is suffering with his health again :( He has had a bad time of it in the past couple of years.
Hope that helps.

Hi there. Well just to let you know myself and another fellow EW customer have taken on doing support for EW portal and are currently in the process of creating addon modules for it.

In terms of other stuff like the free ipn script and other script we will try our best to help you out.

When I get a chance I will setup a forum specifically for ew support and questions.

I didnt realize that there were ongoing discussions about ew here at paypaldev as we have been trying to answer question on another site's forum.

I will leave the url for the ew forum shortly. if you want to ask any ew question I have just subscribed to this topic and will reply shortly.

Thanks,

DarkG

I seem to be having a recurring problem - I bought the eliteweaver package a couple of months ago - everything went well while testing. Today I started adding new products in earnest. Suddenly a product did not update - I redid it - same problem.

How many of you out there knew that if www.eliteweaver.co.uk site is unavailable (it no longer seems to be there however I search) you cannot add a new product using its scripts.

I know it's cheap, but I cannot for the life of me think of a reason you would produce a product that won't allow your customers to add items to their site if your site is down/off line/dead.

Hi,

When I had this problem, I ended up manually editing the database using phpMyAdmin (http://www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page/).

Funny thing though. When we moved EWBP to another host provider, I no longer had that particular problem. Certainly, Marcus would be able to give a solution or explanation, but he is nowhere to be found. :(

Today's issue is an ongoing one. When his site is down, we receive the following error messages when logging in:

Warning: fsockopen(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Temporary failure in name resolution (is your IPV6 configuration correct? If this error happens all the time, try reconfiguring PHP using --disable-ipv6 option to configure) in ....../web/portal/admin/stats.php on line 101

Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to www.eliteweaver.co.uk:80 in ....../web/portal/admin/stats.php on line 101

Personally, I think it's a shame he's not providing support for such a great product with so much potential. Heck, he's still selling plenty. However, the last post I've seen from him anywhere indicates he's working on a 'newer, better model' -- of course, the website he refers to has been "under construction" for nearly a year.

Go figure. ;)

just to correct something in my previous email - the problem with updating products was `operator error` rather than eliteweavers software - however it was confused because of all the error messages we were getting because elite weavers site went offline.

Have not had a great time all year, lol!

I'm hoping to be actively participating in these forums once again by the end of this year. If any EliteWeaver customers want to get hold of me urgently you can call: +44(0)8707607179 observing GMT time 10am-8pm. I had paid for an e-mail support agent for a lot of this year (BIG MISTAKE) who did not do their job but my appologies for that. EliteWeaver (aka: me, Marcus) is still around and there will be a lot of exciting changes early next year including a 2.0 NG portal ;)

My appologies if anyone has had a bad experience but those who know me also know that my heart is in the right place and I will bend over backwards to help someone if they appreciate what I do :)

Best wishes,

Marcus Cicero
EliteWeaver UK

P.S. Thanks to all those that have had faith, shown loyalty and have sent well wishes, I appreciated it very much :)

Hi Marcus,

Glad you are back. I tried your support link, and get this error:

ERROR: Invalid License Key (Time Period Expired)

I have some questions about EW Business Portal, and would like to get a hold of you.
