What PayPal API functions do I use (I'm NOT looking for someone to write the code/walk me through it) to apply multiple payments to a single invoice?

e.g. If I wanted to charge a customer 50% at the time of purchase and 50% at the time of pickup yet apply both payments to the same invoice?
