I'm making a shopping cart for my record label. I've been using 3rd party carts but find them too expensive and I haven't found one that meets all my needs. And since I'm a hobby web designer I figured that I'd build my own

Shipping-wise I want to be able to have a product with several options (vinyl, cd, download etc.) and calculate shipping fee's per option (for instance a downloadable product shouldn't charge shipping & handling).

I'm a design enthusiast and I don't want to clutter up the design by making separate buttons per option though I know it would solve the issue above.

Any ideas?
