Can you use a texbox from outside the buttons form tags? Options

Basically I want to have a textbox that the user can enter some information in that can then be applied to all the products on the page. Is this possible? I'm using add to cart buttons if this helps? I know you can do it seperately for each button but then I have repeated textboxes and it looks a bit silly.

Any help would be appreciated
