i am building a site for my client and woudl like to integrate paypal services. the client is an small organization which holds several training events a month. to attend the events users must pre-register and there is a registration fee.
i have built a system with cold fusion which allows users to register for events via the website but nwo i woudl like them to be able to pay for their registration via paypal from our site.
what I would like to happen is this:
1)User chooses events to register for
2)User is presented with option to pay online or to print registration and send a check
3) if user chooses to pay online, they are presented with a checkout screen. every screen so far is created by me
4) user clicks "submit Payment" button and the info from my form is sent to paypal for payment processing.
5) paypal kicks back data telling me weather or not the payment was processed successfully and i can display a confirmation screen for the user and send an email to my client notifying them of the registration.
I know that by using IPN i can get the info from the transaction sent back to me but can u ise my own form to collect the user's information and just submit data to paypal? if so how? what feilds do i need on that form?
any help would be greatly appreciated

Have a look at mollyguard.com You should capture all the info, store it in a database and pass an ID through the PayPal payment in "item_number" or on0/os0 option fields. Patrick Breitenbach PayPal, Inc. Dev Net: https://www.paypal.com/pdn

mollyguard may be nice but i already developed most of the event registration app for this client and i dont want to have to pay extra fees ontop of what paypal charges (it looks like mollyguard charges $1 per transaction)
so if i create my own form to collect the required data i can pass the data to paypal via item_number and on0/os0 feilds?
what do i set the action attribute of my form to? and what about all the other feilds?
