I would have preferred having three different shipping variables;
i) local buyers could arrange an in-person pick-up, overridding shipping on the paypal form;
ii) domestic (Canada&U.S.) a flat charge of $4.00
iii) international a flat charge of $9
However, I have made several attempts at working this into paypal automatic calculator, and have had no luck.
I would appreciate if anyone could explain how I could pass a "blank" shipping field into the paypal payment form (don't care if it contains the value 0.00), but it must be modifiable.
Thanks a million

Actually, one last thing; it must work for the single item purchase -- I prefer it over the shopping cart solution. Thanks.

I just thought of another scenario; I would also be comfortable with a solution that has a drop-down menu that had the following variables:
Select from one of the following: -Free (Local Pick-up Only) -$4.00 (U.S. & Canada Only) -$9.00 (International)
