We are developing an e-commerce website that sells Excel Tutorial files. We are trying to integrate Simple Pay Standard (Pay Now) as one of the payment options.

We have created the required seller and buyer accounts (sandbox). We were able to successfully test payment processing with IPN in the development machine.

We uploaded this to the hosting server and changed the required url settings, but since then IPN is not working. The IPN history page shows that the messages were VERFIED but the status code returned was 500. This was not happening when we tested the code in the development machine.

The notification page has code to update the database, customise the Excel files and send out emails. Do such operations affect the working of IPN? We also have Google analytics code in the notification page, could that be reason for IPN failure?
Are we missing something here? Could you help us out with this issue as it is cruicial for our client that this be fixed as quickly as possible.
