Can a person in Australia (with mostly Australian customers) use the PayPal Direct extension in a shopping cart?

PayPal Website Payments Pro works for the US, Canada, and the UK. You should look into Payflow Link, as I am pretty sure this works in Australia for direct credit card Payments.
