I can create a profile but no payments get taken. Options

I am using the NVP api with ColdFusion to try to setup a system where people can subscribe to a service via a clients webpage. I have it so they can enter all their data and credit card number etc. and it creates a profile using the CreateRecurringPaymentsProfile method. However it does not actual collect the money or bill the credit card. This is in a sandbox account. Am I missing a step or something?

Either you aren't passing an "initAmt" or you are just doing the CreateRecurringPaymentsProfile API Call without a Direct Payment or ExpressCheckout option. If you want you could email me your raw API Request and API response and I could help you out with it. Just email me at nate@ndswebdesign.com

I have 2 versions of the same thing you are wanting to do already up and working. Let me know,
