Well i will try and get help.... One more time... then I think I will about give up. Paypal needs to brush up on the PR skills. And yes I have searched this board for my answer but do not see anything. I will just copy and paste what I have already asked at another place. ---------- I HAVE tried contacting paypal...... but have not heard back from Paypal ( I give up on getting help from them) Here is my situation. I am from Canada and will be recieving payments from someone in the U.S.A on a regular basis. So after doing some research I decided to open a US bank account at my bank here in Canada as it costs me nothing to have the account, and I will be able to transfer my US money that I recieve into that bank account without Paypal charging me 2.5% to convert the money into canadian dollars. So I set up an account and said I was from canada, because I am. I said that I would be dealing in US $... which I will. My Paypal account says. Quote: Canadian - unverified Balance Manage | Transfer U.S. Dollar (Primary): $0.00 USD Canadian Dollar : $0.00 CAD Current Total in U.S. Dollars: $0.00 USD :End Quote Now what I want to do is get verified and add my US bank account so that I can withdraw monies. So I go to "Add and confirm bank account" Now i am lost. it says if I chooce "canadian" I can only recieve canadian $... So I go to United States. Now I know my "routing number" and I know my "account number"... However, my bank told my I MUST also put in my Bank Transit #... there is no place for a "bank transit #" Now I did try and set this up via clicking on "canada". Even though on the canada side there is no place for a "routing #" However I recieved an email from Paypal saying...... Quote: The two deposits that PayPal sent to your bank account as part of the bank confirmation process were returned to us for the following reason: But it gives NO reason. ------------ Ok.... I attempted to set up a bank account via "United States'... and it gave me this error.. Quote: We regret that this bank account cannot be used on the PayPal website. Please add a different bank account. :End Quote The bank is.... Royal bank of Canada. It did not give me that error when I attempted this using the "canada" area..... so I am goign to assume it will not accept this because it wants a USA bank......

Well today I recieved a responce from Paypal...

**QUOTE**
Thank you for contacting PayPal.
I have reviewed both of your emails, and am answering in this one.

Our emails are answered in the order that they are received, and I
apologize if the timeframe was longer than you expected.

The US Bank account would need to be located in the United States. We are currently unable to support a Canadian bank account that is denominated in US Dollars. **END QUOTE**

However.... after reading the "user agreement" all it says is........

**QUOTE**Canadian Users that have a U.S. bank account registered with their PayPal account will only be required to add a credit card to withdraw funds to that U.S. bank account.**END QUOTE**

AND according to my bank..... they have quite a few people that opened, and use.... US accounts at the Royal Bank of Canada.... JUST for the purpose of using Paypal......

So I am still not satisfied.

did you solve the problem yet? I am in the same boat as you. Paypal sent 2 small deposits to my Royal bank's USD account on sept 3rd, but I have got it yet.

Anybody has successfully transfered USD from Paypal to Royal Bank's USD account yet?

And yes I have searched this board for my answer but do not see anything.

I will just copy and paste what I have already asked at another place.

I HAVE tried contacting paypal...... but have not heard back from Paypal ( I give up on getting help from them)

Here is my situation.

Quote:

U.S. Dollar (Primary): $0.00 USD
Canadian Dollar : $0.00 CAD
Current Total in U.S. Dollars: $0.00 USD :End Quote

Now what I want to do is get verified and add my US bank account so that I can withdraw monies.

So I go to "Add and confirm bank account"

Now i am lost.

it says if I chooce "canadian" I can only recieve canadian $...

So I go to United States.
Now I know my "routing number" and I know my "account number"...
However, my bank told my I MUST also put in my Bank Transit #... there is no place for a "bank transit #"

Now I did try and set this up via clicking on "canada". Even though on the canada side there is no place for a "routing #" However I recieved an email from Paypal saying......

confirmation process were returned to us for the following reason:

But it gives NO reason.

Ok.... I attempted to set up a bank account via "United States'...

and it gave me this error..

Quote:
We regret that this bank account cannot be used on the PayPal website. Please add a different bank account. :End Quote

The bank is.... Royal bank of Canada.

The Royal Bank US Bank account is an actual US bank account connected to the US banking system, it is not like other Canadian bank's US funds accounts. There's your difference.

When you have a Canadian Royal Bank account, they will let you open a RBC Centura (their US bank counterpart) account. From your web banking, you will see both your canadian and US bank accounts, and be able to transfer money from the US side, to the Canadian side.

Hey, I'm a lawyer in Toronto and I'm having the same BS with Paypal....I smell a class action lawsuit. Would you be interested in being a representative plaintiff? Get back to me at ylee@leelaw.com if you want to discuss.
Thanks.

As I have researched, US bank account refers to bank account LOCATED IN THE USA SOIL not just a bank aco**** in US Dollar currency.

If you want to avoid currency conversion as I have worked it out what I have done is this.

I opened 2 currency balances ( login to your account, click profile, then balance) in my account, one in USD and one in GBP (CAD in your case). Then I add my bank account in USA (a registered bank in USA not a US Dollar account with my local UK bank). When I am receving payment in USD this is not converted and it direct goes to my USD balance and the GBP payments that I received is in my GBP balance.

When I withdraw my USD balance I select my US Bank account and then when I withdraw my GBP balance I us e my English account and that really works with me fine.

My question is similar so I thought I'd use this thread.

Does anyone know if I can transfer funds from a USA bank account (on US soil)to a US fund bank account on Canadian soil.

If so, how much is the fee?

Let's use $1000.00 for example. If this is possible, how much would it cost to transfer $1000.00 from my US bank account where I live to my USA Bank account in Canada?

Also, does anyone know how long it takes for the funds to transfer. (This is not an issue, I'm just curious).

Hello, there's a problem confusing everyone here.

Any user from any country can add US bank account to their paypal account but the bank account must be denominated in US.

If you are in UK for instance, you cannot add a US bank account from Barclay to your UK Paypal account.

In short, your US account must with a US Bank.

Hi, I also live in Toronto and have a RBC USD account. In my web banking I can see the balance of both CAD and USD. I failed to add it to Paypal at the first time because of the wrong Routing #. Two days ago I called RBC and confirm all the info of my USD account, including bank, transit, routing and account #; then added it to my Paypal again. Now I still haven't see the two deposit showing in my account online.

Could you please tell me, for the request account #, do you including the transit #, or just the 7 digits account #? For the account # blank in Paypal, I just wrote down my 7 digits acct #, excluding the transit # and bank #.

Thank you so much~~~~
