I know that it's not easy for me to simply request this... but I will give you 3 good reasons why Paypal in Lebanon would be a good idea. The rest is up to you. Here we go: 1- Paypal is not supported in any arabic, middle eastern, or north african country (except israel which has no economic/business relationships with any of the countries in the area) 2- Lebanon is the only arabic/middle eastern country with bank account secrecy which has focused most of the arabic/middle eastern business affairs and transactions to it. 3- Over the past 5 years, internet business in Lebanon have flourished vigorously necessitating the existence of an internet service like paypal. Example: let's say a webdesign or a hosting company needs to charge it's clients who are in forein countries. They can use: credit cards: insecure checks: takes too long... not practical I know hunderds of people in Lebanon who want paypal accounts... I sure do hope you would take this into consideration. Thank you :)

Thanks for the suggestion. We certainly would like to support all countries but there are lots of difficulties. We will continue adding support in different countries but unfortunately I do not know what our timetable is for Lebanon.

Dear Paypal,

It's been now a little more than 2 and a half year since the message of Rami was posted, and I am still not sure if there has been an arrangement for PayPal service in Lebanon.

If there is one, please inform me because I desperately need your services to buy stuff from the internet.

If there isn't, well i think you should do it because of the following reasons:
1) All the reasons given by Rami are truer than ever.

2) I know at least 50 people who are waiting for an opportunity to buy stuff through PayPal, this is mainly because shipment to Lebanon is not available for most items in eBay or Amazon.

3) I assure you that you will have a lot of customers because the Lebanese people are people who spend a lot of money for entertainment and fun, and because most of the Lebanese people learn 3 languages at school (English, French, Arabic and even more!) which means that they will buy from sites of different languages from different countries.

Please reply to my message, and please do something in Lebanon.

Thank you.

If there is no way you can include Lebanon, I would like to point you out to the direction of a Lebanese company called CSC (CreditCard Services Company). This is no advertisement of any kind. They provide service for people looking for internet based prepaid and refilled credit cards to increase security for the buyer, very much like PayPal, instead of using his primary credit card, he uses this one and adds credit to it by cash depending on the amount of ordering he will be doing.

Right now, this company also has worked out a deal with Aramex (Regionally in the Middle East, they are considered simillar to DHL, USPS and FedEx), where one could get this card and pay for it through them. Aramex is a pretty popular company here, so if you can set a deal with those CSC people you will be serving an extremely huge and internet-purchase-hungry audience, from all over the region and not just Lebanon (Where the CSC company is based).

I tried adding my CSC MasterCard Credit Card and I got a message telling me that the country is not supported. So you could start by doing this.

Their website is www.issuers.com If you can kindly forward it on to whomever is responsible it would be great. It also would be great to see some kind of official response to this thread.

Thanks
zc

Hi,i support the idea of adding Lebanon to PayPal for many reason's
If you want to donate to a website or to a game you have to donate from your PayPal account.
If you are an owner of a game or website you have to take money by PayPal
If you want to buy items from Ebay you have to buy by PayPal and the item will be diliverd to your PayPal address
Hope you add Lebanon to PayPal in the nearest time!!!
Thanx

I WANT PAYPAL IN LEBANON!

Yes, I support this view. This feature could be of use by our business. We are the first business of our kind in Lebanon, and could handle all financial transactions though paypal.

I am in disbelief that PayPal isn't available in Lebanon and that it is available in other Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia
I see no reason why PayPal shouldn't be available for Lebanese users

I also am from lebanon and email paypal like a year ago same repsonse as posted in this thread.

I also know an average of 300 people that are asked me online if paypal supports lebanon most want to purchase items online but can't.

To be honest guys i think Lebanon is blacklisted including sryia at paypal because its been almost 4 years and no action from paypal.

I am currently using alertpay they support lebanon and they seem really good, only problem is that they dont support in bank withdrawals but it could be added anytime soon they been adding many countries in these 3 months.

If paypal doesnt want to add Lebanon then maybe someone in Lebanon make a new payment processor lol :)

So paypal are you thinking of adding lebanon or dont really care about it?

Dear paypal administration it has been around 5 years since rami's post and paypal is still not available to us in lebanon i am asking for this service for one verry simple reason : I wish to donate money to a game i play untill now i have been forced to deal with an alternative company (mENABLE and txtnation) to be able to donate the money threw sms and not threw my credit card for some reason. The support and the time it takes for the order to be processed are a huge inconvenience. Paypal is wanted in Lebanon as you can see by the numerous demands made so far we do buy from amazone/ebay you know?
Hope i get a response.
sincerly yours

Dear Support,
I've been following this topic for years and to be honest I never considered replying before today, because I had always thought that adding the country of Lebanon to your services was only a matter of time. However today it seems as if there are other reasons for that country not to be included, because I don't believe that "a matter of time" would really mean 9 years since the beginning of PayPal(if we consider the merger of march 2000 as the start) or at least 5 years since the first inquriy on the topic was posted(by RAMI).
What I don't understand is the fact that so many countries which could be considered a lot more unsafe and unstable than Lebanon are included. Also many Arab/Middle Eastern countries are included.

In other words, dear support team, being at a very stable political, economical, financial and social state as well as having one of the strongest and most recognized banking systems in the region we kindly ask you to include LEBANON to your services as soon as possible or in case it is not possible, kindly respond to us, once and for all, what are the reasons behind this ban? We would really apreciate it if you could put a closure to this subject.

Kind regards

Elie A.
