has anyone done a donation button for ASP.NET (either c# or vb.net)??
I don't get that original <form> button provided by paypal to work.

I recommend that you refer to the PayPal Developers Network. You find a number of ASP resources.

You're in luck! PayPal just posted an SDK for Microsoft ASP.NET. Included in it is a PayPal-enabled iBuySpy Commerce Starter kit. It has controls that solve the classic POST vs GET problem (it uses the hyperlink control) You can download the SDK from https://www.paypal.com/sdk . You'll need to be logged into your paypal account to view the page. You can also send an email to developer at paypal.com with questions. Dave Nielsen PayPal Technical Evangelist

It looks like in the .Net SDK that the "Buy Now" button can be used in place of a Donate button by making the amount and a few other things zero or blank. I read some of the other articles the Donate forum and that appears to be the case. Just thought this might save someone else the hour it took me to figure that out. Can anyone from PayPal confirm this to be the case?

Donation is base on the buy now button. So, yes you can use the Buy Now control to create a Donate button. You may need to use an appropriate donation name for the item name and change the image for the button.
