CFHTTP alternative? Options

CFHTTP.FileContent always ends up equaling Connection Failure. I figured out that apparently you CANNOT use ssl and CFHTTP unless you dont run ColdFusion as a service. I use a hosting company so there is no way I can get them to change that. So I need an alternative. Is it possible to use an auto posting form? A different language? I'm new to CFHTTP, is it basically a fancy form submission? Please help! Also, anyone have form code to spoof sneding an IPN notification to my ipn page for easier testing? Thanks!

Try running with http (no SSL). PayPal will support either.

awesome, I tried that earlier and it worked, but i was afraid of not using ssl. Thanks!!
