I have a site that I would like to put a donation button on a page, but the "simple-free" website software that came with the hosting does not allow HTML coding. I CAN link URLs and emails to go external. Can this be done with Paypal? I need to be able to have a link versus the donation button. Does this make sense?

You can always make a donation/buy now link like so:

https://www.paypal.com/xclick/business=your[AT]email.com&item_name=donation_name

(replace your[AT]mail.com with your PayPal account's primary email address, and replace donation_name with a string describing the particular donation the user is making).

You can create a donations link the same as creating a donation button. Be sure to select "no" in the "Security Settings" section in response to "Choose 'Yes' to encrypt your payment button". The link will be in the second text box after clicking the "Create Button Now" link.
