Will the "initial" payment_status from paypal always be pending. Under any circumstances will the payment_status = completed or failed? I mean when it first post to your IPN, not after it processes the order. Thanks, Nathan

So how does Pending work exactly? For instance, I'm getting posted variables back to my script.

Does paypal automatically resubmit a "Pending" to my success script at a later time - once it turns from Pending to Completed?

Yes, PayPal will send an IPN when the payment is "Pending" and a subsequent IPN when that payment becomes "Completed". The IPN fields are virtually identical except or the "payment_status" field.

Question, I offer a subscription (currently not using IPN) and one of my users paid me with an eCheck today. How does IPN handle this situation in this case? Will the online access still be approved or will it wait till four days later when the payment is cleared? (Will the txn_ID be duplicated? etc.. etc...
